Rate Limits & Plans

Your API key maps to a usage plan enforced at the API gateway. Exceeding it returns 429 Too Many Requests — see Error Handling for backoff guidance.

Your Plan

Your rate limits are confirmed when you're onboarded. To request higher limits, contact your FSRI integration contact with your expected request profile: number of learners, sync cadence and peak concurrency.

Staying Inside Your Plan

  • Full catalog pull once, then updatedAt[after] delta syncs on a schedule.
  • Cache the catalog on your side; never call catalog endpoints in your page-render path.
  • Spread scheduled jobs off the top of the hour.
  • One token per hour — token minting is not an API-quota issue, but per-request minting is a smell that usually accompanies quota problems.
  • Content media (the signed URLs) is served from the CDN and does not count against your API quota; the API calls that mint those URLs do.
