Self Help Resources

Before creating a support ticket, please have a look at our most commonly asked questions here.

Don't see your fire department or organization listed?
Contact the Help Desk to create a support ticket. Be sure to include the following information:

  • Official (legal) name of the department or organization
  • Type of organization (i.e. fire department, academic institution, government agency)
  • City and State or Province
  • If applicable, FDID #
A support representative will review your request and send you a personal response. You can expect to receive the response within 24 hours during normal business hours.
Are you having trouble advancing through the course material?
Try these things before contacting the Help Desk.

  • Make sure your browser is up to date. The Fire Safety Academy works best with the latest versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera, and Safari. It also works on mobile devices like tablets, iPhones, and Androids. If you are not sure if you are using the latest version, you can check your browser HERE. If you have the newest Firefox, update your browser settings to allow autoplay.
  • View all mandatory content in the lesson. As you view content, a check mark will appear on the side bar menu. This is an easy way to see what you may have missed. If you missed something, go back and look at everything before moving forward.
  • Clear cached files. When you clear your cache, you remove temporary files that can cause erratic behavior. This can resolve loading issues and ensure that you are seeing the most recent version of web pages. First, log out of the Fire Safety Academy. To clear your browser's cache or browsing data, use Ctrl+Shift+Del on Windows or Command+Shift+Delete on Mac. Follow the prompts to clear cached files. Return to the Fire Safety Academy and resume your training.
If none of these resolve the issue, contact the Help Desk. Be sure to include the lesson title and as much information about the issue as possible.

As a company officer, training officer, or instructor, you can facilitate in-person delivery with a group of any size. You can watch lessons together and stop and start lessons to discuss how the concepts relate to your unique situation or how you might deploy the tactics on the fireground. At the conclusion of your training session, each participant can log in to their own account to complete the assessment and receive credit for the course.

At this time, only certain courses have been approved for group delivery.

  • Structural Stability of Engineered Lumber in Fire Conditions
  • Residential Attic and Exterior Fires
  • Water Mapping in Residential Structures
  • Air Entrainment by Fire Service Hose Streams
  • Suppression Tactics in Single Family Structures
  • Understanding and Fighting Basement Fires
  • Evidence-Based Approaches to Reduce Exposure Risks
  • Cardiovascular and Chemical Exposure Risks During Training
  • Evidence-Based Structural Firefighting
  • Prerequisites for Live Fire Training Participants

As our course library is updated, we are making more courses available for group delivery. If you have a specific request, please contact the HELP DESK
Are you juggling more than one account, or did you create a duplicate account by accident?
You can have all your Fire Safety Academy accounts merged into a single account. Contact the Help Desk to create a support ticket. Be sure to include the following information:

  • Your full name
  • The email address associated with the account you would like to continue to use.
  • The email address(es) associated with the accounts that you would like removed.
A support representative will review your request and send you a personal response. You can expect to receive the response within 24 hours during normal business hours.

Please note, you won't lose any completed course activity when we merge your accounts. But, if you have incomplete courses in the accounts we remove, you will lose that progress.

At this time, our entire course library has been correlated to the NFPA 1001 (2019) Standard for Firefighter Professional Qualifications. We will be correlating courses to other Professional Qualification standards in the coming months, including NFPA 1021, 1030, 1033, 1035, 1041 and 1521.

We also offer courses based on NFPA 1403 and NFPA 1700.

We are able to offer an API integration that will allow your existing learning management system to communicate with the FSRI Fire Safety Academy. This will allow you to track and manage training records in one place. For more information, contact the HELP DESK. For a smoother integration, be sure to have the name of your existing LMS and the contact information for your account manager or LMS Administrator available.
